Inspired by the Constructivist and Suprematist movements of the early 20th century in the Russian Empire and Soviet Union, my artistic journey has been shaped by the revolutionary ideas of pioneers like Kazimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky, and El Lissitzky. Their works exemplify the power of abstraction to convey complex ideas beyond traditional representation.
In my piece, I reflect the core aspects of Russian Abstract art, Constructivism, and Suprematism, marking my first venture into abstract art. Utilising simple geometric forms and bold colours, I aim to evoke movement and emotion, inviting viewers to engage with the work and explore its meaning. My inspiration from these historic movements seeks to honour their legacy while contributing to contemporary art.

Similar to '1', this artwork draws inspiration from the Russian Suprematist movement of the 1910s and 1920s, which significantly influenced early Soviet propaganda. This movement focused on geometric forms and a limited colour palette to convey profound ideas through abstraction. Pioneers like El Lissitzky created impactful works, such as the lithographic poster 'Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge' (1919), which represented the Russian Civil War and exemplified how art can influence political thought.
This piece marks my second exploration within the Suprematist genre. I find joy in this style of painting, as it resonates with my architectural design approach, creating a unique fusion of art and structure. The interplay of shapes and colours reflects my belief that art and architecture are interconnected, each enhancing the other. Through this exploration, I aim to portray this unseen art-style in a modern light, to help convey my design process and style.
